A new leak of casting descriptions for Star Wars: Episode VII has hit the web, providing brief details about seven lead characters. The leak was first posted by Bleeding Cool, and has since been confirmed by Lucasfilm spokesperson Miles Perkins to reputable Star Wars site TheForce.net. Basically, all signs are pointing toward this being the real deal.

While these descriptions aren’t anything too revealing, we do get rough ages for the characters, meaning speculation can really start to swirl about actors and actresses who can fill these roles. Check out the casting descriptions below.

Late-teen female, independent, good sense of humour, fit.

Young twenty-something male, witty and smart, fit but not traditionally good looking.

A late twentysomething male, fit, handsome and confident.

Seventy-something male, with strong opinions and tough demeanour. Also doesn’ t need to be particularly fit.

A second young female, also late teens, tough, smart and fit.

Forty something male, fit, military type.

Thirtysomething male, intellectual. Apparently doesn’t need to be fit.

Despite what you may think when first reading those descriptions, this is supposedly a list of character profiles and not someone’s dating wish-list. I guess it isn’t any surprise that these main characters are going to be fit/good-looking, but it isn’t like there’s something in the space water that gives everyone awesome six-packs. If you don’t believe me, just ask Jabba.

While this film is going to be a new story and not something pulled from the EU novels, that doesn’t mean the characters, or at least their names, won’t be from something that’s already been written. These descriptions don’t necessarily counter the popular rumor that the main characters are going to be the offspring of characters from the original trilogy. The first two descriptions could easily be for children of Han and Leia, as could the third. If “fit, handsome and confident” doesn’t sound like Han’s son, I don’t know what does. That being said, listing the two leads as different ages does go against Han and Leia having twins, so there’s no way to really say what characters these descriptions are for.
