Though it took a long while to get to this point, Dumb And Dumber To is finally gearing up to head into productions as after New Line Cinema and Warner Bros. passed on it, Universal Pictures and Red Granite Pictures swooped in to save the day.
Now, we’re receiving confirmation from star Jeff Daniels that the film will indeed shoot this Fall for a 2014 release date. Additionally, the actor also dropped some new details about the plot of the much anticipated sequel.
In an interview on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, Daniels said that he has already seen the script and apparently, it’s quite funny.

“I’ve seen the script. It’s hysterical. We’re middle-aged, we’re not pretending we aren’t. We’re middle-aged and we’re still that stupid.”
It’s not much to go on but I have no doubt that the film will indeed be “hysterical,” as Daniels puts it. The original is considered a comedy classic by many and though a considerable amount of time has passed since its release, I suspect that fans will still welcome Harry and Lloyd with open arms when the sequel arrives in theatres.
Unfortunately, that’s all the news we have for now. With the Fall only a few months away though, expect to hear more on the upcoming film in the near future. We’ll be sure to keep you posted.
