PlayStation Plus Update: Jet Set Radio Free, And PLAY Pre-Order Discounts

This week’s PlayStation Plus update is in, revealing that subscribers to the premium service will see the PS3 remake of Jet Set Radio hit the free Instant Game Collection when the PS Store updates tomorrow.

In addition to updating the PlayStation Plus IGC, Sony has also announced that they are kicking off the annual PLAY pre-order promotion on the PlayStation Store. This year’s 20% PLAY discounts for PlayStation Plus members cover the following four upcoming PSN games; Stealth Inc: A Clone in the Dark (releases July 23, PSN Price: $9.99; PS Plus Price: $7.99), Cloudberry Kingdom (releases July 30, PSN Price: $9.99; PS Plus Price: $7.99), ibb & obb (releases August 6, PSN Price: $9.99; PS Plus Price: $7.99), and DuckTales: Remastered (releases August 13, Woo-oo!, PSN Price: $14.99; PS Plus Price: $11.99).

Pre-ordering any of the games during the PLAY promotion (July 16 through July 20) will give you an exclusive PS3 XMB theme based on the title, and if you pre-order more than one game you will receive a bonus PSN cash voucher in return. The voucher amount scales along with the number of titles purchased as follows:

• Pre-order or Buy any 4 PlayStation Store PLAY games to get $10
• Pre-order or Buy any 3 PlayStation Store PLAY games to get $6
• Pre-order or Buy any 2 PlayStation Store PLAY games to get $3

Outside of the PlayStation Plus Instant Game collection addition and PLAY promotion, tomorrow’s store update will also include discounts on the following PSN games:

• Sorcery (PS3) – 50% Discount for PS Plus members (PSN Price: $9.99; PS Plus Price: $5.00)
• Carnival Island (PS3) – 50% Discount for PS Plus members (PSN Price: $9.99; PS Plus Price: $5.00)
• Datura (PS3) – 50% Discount for PS Plus members (PSN Price: $4.99; PS Plus Price: $2.50)
• Draw Slasher (PS3) – 20% Discount for PS Plus members (PSN Price: $3.99; PS Plus Price: $3.19)

Finally, Sony announced that Germinator will be leaving the PlayStation Plus Instant Game Collection on July 23rd, so make sure to add it to your download list before that date.
