Everyone seems to be talking about the recently announced Avengers: Age of Ultron these days, including Marvel President Kevin Feige. In an interview with Empire done right after the big reveal at Comic-Con on Saturday, the head honcho answered some questions and cleared up some misconceptions.
Check out his quote below:
It’s not that [run’s] story, but it’s that title. It’s been in the works for seven or eight months… There are some things in this movie, that you’ll see in 2015, that arise directly from casual conversations Joss and I had on the set of the first one. ‘Would it be cool if…?’ ‘That would be cool!’….We came up with a few titles, but every month a new comic book appeared, and that’s a great title. Age Of Ultron is a great title. We had a few other ‘Of Ultrons’, but that was the best one. So we’re borrowing that title, but taking storylines from decades of Avengers storylines.
Though there’s nothing too revealing here, Feige does confirm what we previously heard from Whedon, that they won’t be using the Age of Ultron storyline. As for which storylines they will be using, well, that’s anyone’s guess.
Feige also revealed something intriguing about Loki. When asked if the fan-favorite villain would show up in Avengers: Age of Ultron, he didn’t give a straight answer, instead saying that “we think Loki could be the big bad for us, for a long time.” Does that mean Loki will survive past Thor: The Dark World? Maybe.
