Watch The New Gravity Trailer: “I’ve Got You”

Yesterday, we were favored with the 'long-take' trailer for Alfonso Cuaron's upcoming space story Gravity. The film stars Sandra Bullock and George Clooney as astronauts cut adrift in space, connected only to each other and rapidly running out of oxygen. As they lose their link to earth, they realize that their only hope for survival is each other. Today we've got a different sort of trailer for Gravity. This one brims with cuts, but is no less powerful.

Yesterday, we were favored with the ‘long-take’ trailer for Alfonso Cuaron’s upcoming space story Gravity. The film stars Sandra Bullock and George Clooney as astronauts cut adrift in space, connected only to each other and rapidly running out of oxygen. As they lose their link to earth, they realize that their only hope for survival is each other. Today we’ve got a different sort of trailer for Gravity. This one brims with cuts, but is no less powerful than the one we saw yesterday.

Like the other trailers, the “I’ve Got You” clip gives us a great taste of what the movie will be like. Spiralling down from the station, Clooney and Bullock try to grab onto anything they can to stop their rapid descent. They call for each other, try to cling on to each other, and … well, it’s all very claustrophobic and just a little terrifying. Up until now, I’d been slightly writing Gravity off as a 2001: A Space Odyssey sort of film – which is to say, an attempt to make a scary space story to match up to that work of art. Now I’m pretty well convinced that this is going to be one hell of a film.

Cuaron has a habit of bringing us up close and personal with some very frightening prospects. The dialogue between Clooney and Bullock in this trailer is convincing, but the visuals truly impress. You legitimately feel like you’re falling with them, desperately trying to get ahold of something and failing to. It’s a brilliant piece of filmmaking. If this can make me feel uncomfortable on a small screen, then the film (made in 3D) will be something extra special.

You can check out the latest trailer for Gravity below and let us know what you think in the comments. Scary, no?

Gravity opens on October 4, 2013, just in time for awards season.
