Homefront Moves 375,000 Copies On Day One

Homefront is finally here and after becoming THQ's most pre-ordered game, Homefront moved 375,000 copies on day one, in North America. Personally, I was expecting a bit more than 375,000 but THQ seems happy with the figures. “We are delighted with first day sales for Homefront and are already fulfilling re-orders for the game from multiple retailers,” said Brian Farrell, THQ President and CEO. In our Homefront review, we gave the game a 8.5. That being said, review scores are kind of all over the place. I've seen everything from 5 to 10. What's even more telling is that THQ's stock dropped quite a bit yesterday, falling 26%. Seems as if investors weren't too happy with Homefront's performance.

In our Homefront review, we gave the game a 8.5. That being said, review scores are kind of all over the place. I’ve seen everything from 5 to 10. THQ had a lot resting on Homefront and personally I enjoyed the game, a lot. The single player campaign was a bit too short but I thought that the multiplayer was good enough that it should be able to keep the game resting in consoles for a while. THQ is already talking about Homefront 2 and I for one would love to see a sequel, especially since the game’s ending is just asking for one.

What do you think? Are you happy with the game’s first day sales? Looking forward to Homefront 2?
