Bits and pieces continue to trickle out from the hotly anticipated sequel Anchorman: The Legend ContinuesThe latest are just a few stills from the film, but as always they are a tantalizing reminder that the movie will hit theatres in December, and it cannot come fast enough.

What do we know about Anchorman: The Legend Continues? Well, we know that everyone’s favorite news team is back in action, reuniting Ron Burgundy (Will Ferrell), co-anchor Veronica Corningstone (Christina Applegate), Brian Fantana (Paul Rudd), Brick Tamland (Steve Carell) and Champ Kind (David Koechner).

They’ve made it all the way into the 1980s, Ron and Veronica are married, and the team are anchoring the nation’s first 24-hour news network. That already has the makings of comedy gold, if Ferrell and Co. can be trusted to bring the same vibe from Anchorman back again. We also know that Kristen Wiig and James Marsden have joined the cast, and Liam Neeson and Sacha Baron Cohen are among the many, many guest stars.

The new stills give us yet another glimpse into what director Adam McKay and his cast have in store for us. First, we have Ron and Veronica rocking it 80s-style on the streets of New York, and then a reunion (perhaps?) between Ron and his old news team. So there’s not much to go on, but what there is looks exactly as we expect it to look.

We’ll know on December 20 if lightning will strike in the same place twice. Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy was such an excellent comedy that I’m not certain if they’ll be able to pull it off again. But, man, I really do hope so.
