After the West coast crooner’s death on Wednesday, his attorney, Mark Geragos, confirmed that the former Death Row Records singer died from complications from multiple strokes. He suffered at least two strokes within 10 months of each other in 2007-2008, the first of which left him paralyzed in his left side.

However, Geragos recently confirmed that Nate was making significant progress, having fully recovered his memory. In addition, close friend and fellow 213 member Warren G confirmed in September 2010 that Nate Dogg was undergoing therapy and was fully alert and aware. Because of this, Nate’s sudden passing on Wednesday came as a shock to all.

Nate Dogg’s close friend and manager, Rod McGrew, issued a statement to all the fans:

We appreciate the enormous outpouring of response from all over the world. We greatly appreciate that and thank everyone for their prayers and support. We know that Nate will be hanging out with his good friends 2Pac and Biggie.
