With Gravity‘s October release date steadily creeping closer, and absolute rave reviews coming out of the Venice Film Festival where the film was shown two days ago, Warner Bros. is kicking the film’s marketing campaign into high gear with two new character posters featuring stars Sandra Bullock and George Clooney.

Both posters feature extreme close-ups of the two actors, as well as the simple but terrifying tagline “Don’t let go.” Clooney certainly looks worried in his poster, but Bullock looks flat-out terrified in hers. And no wonder – the trailers so far have shown her character separated from both the ship and her colleague, hurtling aimlessly through space.

Gravity centers on two astronauts who are trapped in space with no way of contacting ground control after their space shuttle is destroyed by debris from a satellite. Sandra Bullock stars as Dr. Ryan Stone, a medical engineer on her first mission who is still grieving the loss of her child. George Clooney also stars as veteran astronaut Matt Kowalsky. After impact with the debris, the two are left drifting through space with no way to reach the spacecraft and no hope of rescue.

The film, directed by Children of Men auteur Alfonso Cuarón, has been making waves since its debut at the Venice Film Festival, with many calling it an early frontrunner for Best Picture. Praise has been directed towards everything from the film’s performances, visual effects and direction to its cinematography, screenplay and score, and there’s every indication that Gravity will be one of the best films of the year. We’re absolutely stoked to see it.

Gravity will be released in 3D and IMAX on October 4th.
