After working together on Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows, director Guy Ritchie will be teaming up again with former Mad Men actor Jared Harris for the upcoming film, The Man From U.N.C.L.E.

THR is the one reporting on the news and while they don’t have firm details on who exactly he’ll be playing, we do know that the character will be named Sanders. Aside from that though, not much is known. Still, Harris has proven himself before and seeing as he did some good work as Moriarty in the last Sherlock Holmes film, I think it’s fair to assume that his re-teaming with Ritchie will prove to be successful.

Check out producer Lionel Wigram’s comments about Harris’ casting from the press release:

Guy and I have long loved these characters, and wanted to start from scratch with our own take and create a film steeped in the 1960s for today’s audiences. We are particularly happy about our cast, who all bring something special to the film. Henry, Armie, Alicia and Elizabeth are among the best and most exciting actors of the next generation. In addition, we are thrilled to be working with Hugh Grant, who we have known and been fans of for many years, and Jared Harris, who did such a great job for us as Moriarty.

Set to be a more “light-hearted” take on the 1960’s TV series of the same name, the film stars Henry Cavill and Armie Hammer as “US and Russian agents Napoleon Solo and Illya Kuryakin. The two are “forced to put aside longstanding hostilities to stop a mysterious international criminal organization.” Co-starring will be Alicia Vikander, Elizabeth Debicki and Hugh Grant.

Filming will get underway this week but a release date as not yet been set. We’ll keep you posted when we hear more.

Tell us, are you happy to see Jared Harris joining Guy Ritchie’s The Man From U.N.C.L.E.?
