Revealed during Sony’s pre-Tokyo Game Show press conference, Visiontrick Media is bringing their new graphic adventure game Pavilion to the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita. According to the game’s creators, Pavilion will launch on both systems in the spring of 2014.

Visiontrick Media developers Rickard Westman and Henrik Flink describe Pavilion as a “fourth-person exploratory experience about guidance, influence and subliminal control.” In it, players control the game by manipulating the protagonist’s surrounding environment. In order to do this, you will have to touch objects and turn on and off light sources. This will help guide the main character through Pavilion‘s “dream-like” hand painted world. Pavilion will also feature “dreamy ambient music” by composer Tony Gerber.

Going by visuals alone, I’m intrigued by Pavilion already. The title has a unique style and any game that has a surreal look to it will interest me. However, I wish Visiontrick Media had explained how the game actually plays just a little bit more. Besides sounding just a little pretentious, a “fourth-person exploratory experience” isn’t the most descriptive way to explain how a game plays. Going by that description alone though, the title sounds a little like the well received indie game Fez. However, until we hear any more information about the gameplay, consider me just a little cautious about Pavilion.

I’ve mentioned this before, but I’m considerably impressed by Sony’s commitment to bringing more indie titles to their consoles. With titles like this and Road Not Taken, I’m interested to see what the company has up their sleeves in the months following the launch of the PlayStation 4 in November.

Pavilion will be at next week’s Tokyo Game Show as part of the new Indie Games Area. Going by the meagre amount of information we currently have, are you intrigued by Pavilion? Let us know!
