German Ratings Board Reveals Vita Version Of Injustice: Gods Among Us

A certification listing over on Germany’s USK rating board suggests that a PlayStation Vita version of Warner Bros.’ fighting game Injustice: Gods Among Us is in the works. The rating itself was initially spotted by Siliconera, which also lends credence to NetherRealm – the studio behind the popular superhero brawler – releasing a Game Of The Year edition, too.

Though it hasn’t been openly confirmed by either NetherRealm or Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, a handheld version of Injustice: Gods Among Us is entirely feasible. Given that the studio has released a steady stream of additional content for the game since its release back in April and Mortal Kombat – another release from the American developer – was ported to the PlayStation Vita last year, it seems likely that Batman & Co. will join the handheld’s library in due time.

Previous to the German USK board providing a rating for the game, Amazon France posted a listing for a GOTY edition of Injustice: Gods Among Us in July for Xbox 360, PS3, PC, Wii U and, crucially, PlayStation Vita. The retailer also suggested that this new release would come packaged with all of the downloadable content and new characters – including the magical Zatanna Zatara, who was the sixth post-release addition to the game’s extensive roster.

Upon release, Injustice: Gods Among Us debuted at the peak of the UK’s all-format chart – eclipsing BioShock: Infinite and Fire Emblem: Awakening, no less – which has sparked rumours of a potential sequel. Nevertheless, NetherRealm’s substantial support of the game post-release, including the Man of Steel-themed DLC in July, a fully fledged Game Of The Year version seems likely.

With that said, there was no information regarding a potential release date. Mind you, bearing in mind that the Spike VGA’s take place in December, a re-release of Injustice: Gods Among Us could ostensibly hit stores in early 2014.

What do you think, though? Would you be interested in picking up a seasoned version of NetherRealm’s brawler? Let us know below.
