Activision Starts “SWAPtober” Campaign For Skylanders Swap Force

Now that we’ve entered the home stretch of waiting for the October 13th release of Skylanders Swap Force, Activision, who handles the publishing of the popular toy-based action-adventure series, is planning to celebrate the game’s upcoming launch for the entire month in various ways, dubbing the promotion “SWAPtober.”

To kick things off, from October 1st through October 31st, the official Skylanders Twitter account, @SkylandersGames, will give away one full retail Starter Pack of the game every day to participants, though it should be noted that the bundles will not be available until the game hits stores.

Also, on October 10th, Skylanders fans in New York City will be able to attend “SWAPtoberfest” in Times Square, where fans can participate in activities, win Starter Packs and other merchandise, and play the game before it’s available to the general public. A similar event will be held on October 12th and October 13th at the New York City Toys”R”Us to celebrate the game’s launch.
