Warner Bros. has announced that Injustice: Gods Among Us Ultimate Edition will be coming to the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PC and Vita. The re-release will retail for $59.99 on the PS3, PS4, and 360, $49.99 on the PC and $39.99 on the Vita.
Included in this edition of Injustice will be all of the DLC that has been released for the title thus far. The extra DLC, which is valued at over $120 according to WB, will include Lobo, Batgirl, General Zod, Martian Manhunter, Zatanna and the re-designed Scorpion from Mortal Kombat. Additional content includes 40 more character skins, 60 S.T.A.R. Labs Missions and the official soundtrack.
High Voltage will be handling development duties for the PlayStation 4 and Armature Studios will be working on the PlayStation Vita edition. Both developers will be taking advantage of the features of their respective systems, as the PS4 edition will support the controller touchpad and video sharing while the Vita version will include touch controls and Wi-Fi support.
Obviously the big story here is the fact the PlayStation 4 is getting Injustice and the Xbox One or Wii U aren’t. While I’m sure there is some reasoning for this, it is a little surprising considering that the game was originally released on the Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii. That being said, it’s worth pointing out that a user on NeoGaf found ratings for Xbox One and Wii U versions of Injustice on a Brazilian classification board alongside the announced versions.
I do find it a little funny that we are already getting a re-release of a title that just came out in April. For people who bought the game back then, they have to be feeling just a little burned right now. At this point, why even bother buying a game when it is initially released? These re-releases are becoming more and more prevalent these days and it almost makes no sense to buy a game right at launch, unless you absolutely cannot wait to play it.
Injustice: Gods Among Us Ultimate Edition will be released on November 12th in the U.S. and November 29th in Europe.
