Ubisoft has announced the content that will be included in the Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag season pass for both the current and next-gen versions of the game.

The meat of Black Flag‘s season pass will be the short Freedom City single-player story, starring Edward Kenway’s first mate Adewale. The nine mission self-contained plot revolves around his travels in Saint Domingue, following a shipwreck.

Also exclusive to the season pass is the Kraken Ship Pack. This pack will center on the ship-building aspect of the game and will provide several unique customization options for Kenway’s ship, the Jackdaw.

Gamers who purchase the season pass will also receive additional single-player missions, weapons, skins, collectibles and other content for the game’s multiplayer mode.

Is it wrong to say that I’m kind of more excited about Adewale’s tale than Kenways? Adewale’s history as a former slave is very intriguing, and I think it will be interesting to see his life before joining the Jackdaw crew. While I would never expect historical accuracy from the series (See: Assassin’s Creed 3‘s DLC), Freedom City still could be an interesting piece of content.

Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag launches on October 29th for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Wii U (which will not receive the DLC) and November 19th for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC platform. The season pass will release alongside the next-gen versions of the title for $19.99, giving buyers 20% off the normal price of the DLC.
