Speculation is running rampant throughout the fanboy community as to just which female character is currently being cast to star alongside Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill in 2015’s titanic superhero team-up, Batman vs. Superman.
While a fairly vocal segment of fans are clamouring for it to be Wonder Woman, Latino Review suggests that this is not the case and that the role (which presumably has several high-profile actresses in contention for it) is instead intended to be as a romantic foil to Ben Affleck’s Bruce Wayne. Unfortunately, there is no word on which actresses are currently in the running but as soon as we hear anything we’ll be sure to let you know.
With director Zack Snyder still embroiled in making additional casting decisions (it is still not clear as to who the film’s main antagonist will be), the furor surrounding the is-it-or-isn’t-it going to be Wonder Woman debate is bound to escalate until an official announcement is made.
As an interesting aside, Warner’s CEO Kevin Tsujihara is on record as proclaiming that “we need to get Wonder Woman on the big screen or TV.” Such proclamations from someone atop the executive food-chain in Burbank can only add fuel to an already combustible fire, right?
