One of the biggest additions that Rocksmith 2014 will sport over its predecessor is the new Session Mode, which will enable players to play freestyle guitar with backup instruments provided by the game. Now, Ubisoft has released a new promotional video focusing on what guitarists in training can expect to get out of it.

Depending on the volume and overall intensity the player provides, the backing instruments will change accordingly. Over 75 of these unique backing instruments will be available to select from, including drums, bass and regular guitars, and keyboards, with customizable volume, pan, and tempo settings for each one.

For those who prefer more structure to their gaming experience, Session Mode will come with several built-in missions, starting with simple goals such as playing along with a solo backup drummer and eventually helping to learn techniques like various scales. Support for both bass and multiplayer in the new mode have also been confirmed.

Rocksmith 2014 will be available for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC on October 22. We will keep you updated as more news and media regarding the game become available. In the meantime, post your thoughts on Session Mode in the comments section below.
