The initial North American launch for Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, currently scheduled for October 29th, will mark the release of the game on both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, with the PS4, Xbox One, Wii U, and PC versions all scheduled for November. Now that we’re a scant week away from getting our plunder on, Ubisoft has released a brand-new launch trailer to entice fans of the series.

While there isn’t really anything new revealed here, the trailer still does a good job of showcasing the game’s undeniable sense of scope and action, displaying protagonist Edward Kenway in action both on land and on sea. We also get a good look at the game’s pirate-based setting, which looks like a welcome change of pace from what we’ve seen in previous entires.

Overall, it’s pretty much what you’d expect from a launch trailer, with Ubisoft highlighting the game’s most exciting moments, which of course, include plenty of naval warfare. If you’ve been a fan of the series up to this point, you shouldn’t be disappointed with what’s on display here.

We will keep you updated on Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag as more news develops. Until then, let us know your thoughts on this latest trailer in the comments section below.
