THR is reporting that Channing Tatum will star in and produce director Jonathan Levine’s next project, Bad Romance, which the filmmaker will be writing and directing. Unfortunately, that is literally all we have to report on as no other details have been made available, aside from the fact that the film is developing at MGM.
You can throw this one onto Tatum’s increasingly busy plate, as the in demand actor has several projects in the works. The upcoming sequel 22 Jump Street, the Wachowski’s Jupiter Ascending, the follow-up to Magic Mike…it seems that there’s no stopping Hollywood’s current IT boy.
As for Levine, he is perhaps best known for his excellent dramedy 50/50, which starred Seth Rogen and Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Aside from that, he’s also brought us Warm Bodies, All The Boys Love Mandy Lane and The Wackness. So there’s a mix of good and bad in his filmography, but at the very least, he always keeps it interesting.
Tatum and Levine seems like a pretty ideal pairing, and though no plot details have been revealed just yet, I would imagine that the film will be some kind of romance story that focuses on relationships. Then again, the title could be misleading and I might be completely wrong about that. Hopefully it won’t be too much longer before we hear more.
We’ll be sure to keep you posted on any and all news regarding Bad Romance once it’s made available. In the meantime, tell us, are you excited to see Tatum hopping on board Levine’s new film? Let us know in the comments below.
