According to the ever-reliable Latino-Review, specifically their writer El Mayimbe, a frontrunner has emerged for a highly coveted female role in Zack Snyder’s Batman vs. Superman. Gal Gadot, an Israeli actress and model, is supposedly up for a pivotal but mysterious part in the hotly-anticipated blockbuster.

Gadot recently appeared as Gisele Yashar, a professional thief and love interest of Han Seoul-Oh (Sung Kang), in this past summer’s Fast & Furious 6. She previously played the same role in 2009’s Fast & Furious and 2011’s Fast Five. Though Gadot’s role was a highly physical one, she also showcased some considerable acting chops throughout her time in the franchise.

Landing a part in Batman vs. Superman is far from a done deal, however. Gadot still faces tough competition for the role, as Quantum of Solace star Olga Kurylenko and G.I. Joe: Retaliation actress Elodie Yung also recently auditioned. Thor‘s Jaime Alexander was previously linked to the part, but obligations to Marvel will likely prevent her from committing.

Rumors have spread like wildfire across Twitter that Gadot, Kurylenko and Yung are currently battling for the part of Wonder Woman. Snyder has offered no clues about whether the famous superheroine will be making an appearance in his film, but the fact that Warner Bros. is gearing up for a Justice League movie certainly lends credence to the idea of at least a cameo for the character (or her alter ego Diana Prince) in Batman vs. Superman. Other sources are claiming that the actresses above may actually be testing for a love interest for Bruce Wayne/Batman (Ben Affleck).

Batman vs. Superman hits theaters on July 17th, 2015.
