How To Train Your Dragon 2 Gets A Teaser Poster

With all of the news we've been hearing about high-profile sequels scheduled for next summer like The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and X-Men: Days of Future Past, it's easy to forget about the potential blockbusters that haven't yet launched marketing campaigns. How to Train Your Dragon 2, the second installment in DreamWorks' animated action fantasy series, has thus far only received a less-than-illuminating teaser, but a new poster for the movie suggests that another trailer may soon appear in theaters, perhaps attached to next week's animated adventure Frozen.

With all of the news we’ve been hearing about high-profile sequels scheduled for next summer like The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and X-Men: Days of Future Past, it’s easy to forget about the potential blockbusters that haven’t yet launched marketing campaigns. How to Train Your Dragon 2, the second installment in DreamWorks’ animated action fantasy series, has thus far only received a less-than-illuminating teaser, but a new poster for the movie suggests that another trailer may soon appear in theaters, perhaps attached to next week’s animated adventure Frozen.

The poster, which you can check out below, doesn’t give away any details about the sequel’s plot but at least reminds us that the film is indeed on its way:

As the above image indicates, How to Train Your Dragon 2 rejoins an older, more mature Hiccup (voiced by Jay Baruchel) five years after the events of the first film. The official plot synopsis reads as follows:

The thrilling second chapter of the epic How to Train Your Dragon trilogy brings back the fantastical world of Hiccup and Toothless five years later. While Astrid, Snoutlout and the rest of the gang are challenging each other to dragon races (the island’s new favorite contact sport), the now inseparable pair journey through the skies, charting unmapped territories and exploring new worlds. When one of their adventures leads to the discovery of a secret ice cave that is home to hundreds of new wild dragons and the mysterious Dragon Rider, the two friends find themselves at the center of a battle to protect the peace.

The entire cast of How to Train Your Dragon will return for the sequel – in addition to Baruchel, that includes America Ferrera, Gerard Butler, Craig Ferguson, Jonah Hill, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, T.J. Miller and Kristen Wiig. On top of that already impressive cast, the sequel will feature the voice talents of Djimon Hounsou, Kit Harrington and Cate Blanchett.

How to Train Your Dragon 2 opens in theaters June 13th, 2014.
