Production on Fast & Furious 7 has come to a halt due to the tragic death of actor Paul Walker. Universal is now in a tricky position and so far, we have heard no word as to how they want to proceed. We know that the film has been shooting for a while now, under the direction of James Wan, but there were still several scenes that Walked had not completed yet.
Of course, one option would be to re-work the script and write him out of the film, but apparently, the studio is looking at another option as well. According to The Wrap, the entire movie might be scrapped in order to just start over from the beginning. Unfortunately, we won’t have a final answer on how they’re choosing to proceed for at least a few more weeks.
If they decide against scrapping it, then insiders say that another option is to “superimpose Walker’s face on another actor’s body,” which is something that we’ve seen many times before in various films.
Regardless of what they end up doing, this is no doubt a tough decision and a lot of thought has to go into it. The studio needs to respect Paul Walker, but they also need to look at what’s best for the franchise, as it’s one of their biggest properties.
We’ll keep you posted when Universal makes a final decision but for now, tell us, how do you think production on Fast & Furious 7 should proceed?
