The Other Woman Trailer Showcases Cameron Diaz, Leslie Mann, And Kate Upton

Heck hath no fury like a woman scorned in the disappointingly safe trailer for Nick Cassavetes' upcoming comedy The Other Woman. The preview forgets to add in much humor, but it spends a lot of time introducing the film's story while parading around a star-studded cast which includes Cameron Diaz, Leslie Mann, Kate Upton, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau and Nicki Minaj.

Heck hath no fury like a woman scorned in the disappointingly safe trailer for Nick Cassavetes’ upcoming comedy The Other Woman. The preview forgets to add in much humor, but it spends a lot of time introducing the film’s story while parading around a star-studded cast which includes Cameron Diaz, Leslie Mann, Kate Upton, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau and Nicki Minaj.

The Other Woman centers on a successful lawyer (Diaz) who discovers that her dreamboat boyfriend (Coster-Waldau) is actually married. Striking up a quirky friendship with his timid wife (Mann), the woman sets out to take revenge on the man who duped her. Along the way, the two discover another woman (Upton) whom the guy has been seeing on the side and bring her in on the scheme.

Check out the preview below:

Though The Other Woman doesn’t appear to be trying too hard to break any social norms or genre conventions, those dastardly Hollywood types ensured I’ll be lining up by putting Kate Upton in a bikini. Other than the beautiful trio at the film’s center, The Other Woman doesn’t seem to bring much to the table, but that cast alone should be enough to guaranteed a solid debut for the comedy.

The script, by Melissa Stack, was on the Black List of best unproduced screenplays a few years back, so hopefully The Other Woman can provide some laughs to go along with all the eye candy, but this first trailer doesn’t look too promising. One scene appears to be lifted almost directly from The 40-Year Old Virgin, while the film’s entire plot already appeared on the big screen back in 2006, back when it was called John Tucker Must Die.

What do you think of the trailer? Will The Other Woman be a comedy hit, or does this film look dead on arrival? Let us know in the comments section!

The Other Woman hits theaters on April 25th, 2014.
