When Left 4 Dead burst onto the scene back in 2008, it was considered to be one of the best new original properties of that year. The talented team behind the game, Turtle Rock Studios, would go onto to release Left 4 Dead 2 in 2009 and then, oddly, they fell off the grid. Now, however, the company has finally revealed what they’ve been working on.

The latest issue of Game Informer magazine will feature the first exclusive look and details on the studio’s upcoming project: Evolve. The magazine cover can be seen below.

Shifting focus from the zombie apocalypse to the world of sci-fi, Evolve is a multiplayer title that features one versus four combat. Four players will step into the shoes of a talented team of alien hunters, while the other player will control a constantly evolving monster, hence the title. Although the monster will be outnumbered and outgunned, the creature will have a multitude of devastating attacks to use as well as a noticeable size advantage.

Even going off of the limited information we have right now, I’m pretty excited to read more about Evolve. I was a huge fan of Left 4 Dead and was disappointed when Turtle Rock Studios seemingly fell off the face of the Earth. To hear that they’re working on another multiplayer focused title has me very happy.

Evolve is currently scheduled for a Fall 2014 release on the PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Tell us, are you excited about the return of Turtle Rock Studios? Or are you sick of first-person shooters in general? Let us know in the comments section below.
