Amidst the string of recent duds that January often brings with it there are always a couple bright spots, especially when you reach the end of the month. Amidst the string of recent duds that January often brings with it there are always a couple bright spots, especially when you reach the end of the month. That Awkward Moment, which marks the directorial debut of Tom Gormican, is a charming and honest comedy that while not perfect, is certainly one of January’s more enjoyable films.

Bolstered by strong chemistry from its leading cast (Zac Efron, Miles Teller and Michael B. Jordan), the plot revolves around 3 friends living in New York City who make a pact to stay single and help each other navigate the treacherous NYC social scene. Of course, things don’t go as planned and as the boys soon learn, you can’t help it when you start to fall for the girl of your dreams.

Recently, at the film’s press day, we had the chance to speak with Efron, Teller, Jordan, Gormican and Imogen Poots. Our time with the talent was brief, though they did talk about a few interesting points. The boys spoke about using their rising status in the industry to get projects off the ground while Poots discussed what it takes to press on as an actress when things get tough. As for Gormican, he told us what it was like working with such a great cast on his first film.

Check it all out in the video below and be sure to catch That Awkward Moment when it hits theatres this Friday!
