Dane DeHaan And Daniel Radcliffe To Reunite With John Krokidas For College Republicans

Is it just me or is this the week of reunions? First, Jennifer Lawrence and David O. Russell, then, Liam Neeson and Martin Scorsese, and now, Dane DeHaan, Daniel Radcliffe and John Krokidas. Yup, that's right, the Kill Your Darlings trio will team up again to make College Republicans. The Wes Jones-penned script, which was on the 2010 Black List, has been making the rounds in Hollywood for a while now. Paul Dano and Shia LaBeouf were actually set for the lead roles at one point but of course, that didn't work out.

Is it just me or is this the week of reunions? First, Jennifer Lawrence and David O. Russell, then, Liam Neeson and Martin Scorsese, and now, Dane DeHaan, Daniel Radcliffe and John Krokidas. Yup, that’s right, the Kill Your Darlings trio will team up again to make College Republicans. The Wes Jones-penned script, which was on the 2010 Black List, has been making the rounds in Hollywood for a while now. Paul Dano and Shia LaBeouf were actually set for the lead roles at one point but of course, that didn’t work out.

The film, which is being described as a buddy comedy, will tell the true story of “Karl Rove (DeHaan), who under the guidance of Lee Atwater (Radcliffe), runs a dirty campaign for for the College Republican Chairman in 1973.” Definitely sounds like interesting material for the two young actors and it’s great to see both DeHaan and Radcliffe continue to take on challenging and varied roles.

For anyone who has seen Kill Your Darlings (which is unfortunately, not many people), you’ll know how fantastic this news is. Despite being one of the best films of 2013, Krokidas’ directorial debut unfortunately failed to earn much awards recognition. Thankfully, it did receive excellent reviews and featured sharp direction from the first film filmmaker as well as daring and exhilarating performances from its two stars, who had electrifying chemistry on screen together.

Krokidas hopes to start shooting College Republicans in November, so hopefully we’ll have more news for you in the coming months. In the meantime, tell us, are you happy to see this trio of talent back together again?
