Robert Luketic is now signed on to direct the female version of The Expendables, known as The ExpendaBelles. Robert Luketic is now signed on to direct the female version of The Expendables, known as The ExpendaBelles. Several actresses have been rumored for the film in the past (Milla Jovovich, Cameron Diaz, Kate Beckinsale) but apparently, no one has been officially cast and the producers are working on their shortlist of who they want to have star.

Penning the script will be Kirsten Smith and Karen McCullah, who wrote Luketic’s Legally Blonde, and producing will be Avi Lerner. The story is set to revolve around a group of deadly female operatives, who “must pose as high-class call-girls shipped in by private plane to satisfy a dictator” after “America’s Navy SEALs are wiped out trying to penetrate the island lair of a deadly despot who has captured one of the world’s top nuclear scientists.” Sounds pretty crazy, and it could turn out to be a lot of fun, if not a bit silly.

Of course, now the question on everyone’s mind is who will star? Well, there’s honestly a whole plethora of actresses that could be great for this film. Aside from the aforementioned names, people like Uma Thurman, Sigourney Weaver and Lucy Liu would all be excellent choices. After seeing how successful The Expendables was, I don’t think the producers will have a hard time in bringing on exactly who they want.

Tell us, who would be your ideal cast for The ExpendaBelles?
