Throughout it all, Trey Parker and Matt Stone seemed to have never lost faith or confidence in their collective efforts with Obsidian on South Park: The Stick of Truth. They clearly appear relieved, however, that development is finally over and that the fruits of their labor will indeed see the light of day.

Recently, the duo released a video discussing the game and how happy they are about it going gold. The also spoke about how development began, creating aesthetics similar to the story, how fart mechanics are meticulously implemented and more. Check it out below:

I hope they don’t get a 4/10 on Gamespot either. I’m pretty sure I speak for South Park fans and gamers alike when I say that I’m hopeful Obsidian can defy the curse of developmental hell and deliver an early Game of the Year contender. One thing is for certain though and it’s that from everything we have seen, South Park: The Stick of Truth looks nearly identical to its TV show counterpart, which is definitely a good thing.

The development process of South Park: The Stick of Truth has been a nightmare. There have been countless delays – two of them were each by a single year – and the original publisher, THQ, even went out of business. It’s nothing short of a miracle that the game has now gone gold. Let’s hope that it can live up to the enormous amount of hype that’s surrounding it.

South Park: The Stick of Truth finally hits store shelves on March 4th and will be available on PS3, 360 and PC.
