New Nymphomaniac Trailer Is The Perfect Antidote For Valentine’s Day

It may have been cruel, but it also would have been darkly and deeply funny if Lars Von Trier had decided to release the first of his two-part sex addict drama Nymphomaniac on Valentine's Day. Although the director's fans (and curious cinephiles) on this side of the ocean will have to wait until March to see if the film lives up to its ecstatic reviews and its eyebrow raising posters, a new, green-band U.S. trailer for Nymphomaniac is now online to tempt and tease us for what's to come. It may be the most erotic and rancid green-band promo ever though, so still watch at your own risk if you're at work. Even a toned back Lars Von Trier is quite provocative.

After its bizarre premiere in Berlin last weekend, where actor Shia LaBeouf wore a paper bag on his head and ditched a press conference, Nymphomaniac is becoming a film about a controversial subject that is actually drawing a lot of interest beyond mere film fans. The NC-17 drama tells the story of Joe (Charlotte Gainsbourg), a sex addict who recounts to an older man played by Stellan Skarsgård the lurid details of her promiscuous history. The erotic drama also stars Stacy Martin as a young adult Joe, the aforementioned LaBeouf, Uma Thurman, Connie Nielsen, Christian Slater, Jamie Bell and Udo Kier.

Nymphomaniac will be released in two parts beginning in March. Volume 1 comes out on Video On Demand on March 6 before hitting select cinemas on March 21. Volume 2 has an April 3 release date on demand and will be in theatres April 18. Prepare yourself for a strenuous five-and-a-half hours if you want to watch both volumes of the film back-to-back.
