New Co-Op Trailer Released For Child Of Light

Child of Light, Ubisoft's upcoming downloadable RPG, appears to thankfully still be on track for its previously announced April 30th release date, and the fact that the publisher has released a new promotional trailer seems to be evidence of that. Child of Light, Ubisoft’s upcoming downloadable RPG, appears to thankfully still be on track for its previously announced April 30th release date, and the fact that the publisher has released a new promotional trailer seems to be evidence of that. This latest bit of media chooses to focus on the abilities that Igniculus, the blue firefly partner of lead protagonist Aurora, is apparently capable of in the game’s cooperative mode.

Igniculus, despite his small size, will be able to aid Aurora in numerous ways, including revealing hidden items, activating environmental mechanisms, serving as a lantern substitute and even revealing hidden paths obscured by the foreground.

It’s all rather reminiscent of another small, flying helping character, namely Murfy from Ubisoft’s own Rayman Legends, who could be partly controlled by timed button presses on most consoles and directly controlled on the Wii U and Vita via each system’s touch screen. At the moment, though, control schemes for Igniculus in both single-player and co-op remain unclear, so we’ll have to wait and see just how players can expect to control him in either mode.

Child of Light will be released digitally for $14.99 on April 30th for Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Wii U, and PC. We will keep you updated as more news regarding the game drops. Until then, feast your eyes on the gorgeous trailer below and let us know your thoughts on the game in the comments section.
