After giving us the very impressive Prisoners, director Denis Villeneuve re-teams with Jake Gyllenhaal again for Enemy, a disturbing thriller that sees the actor delivering one of his best performances to date.
Taking on dual roles, the film has Gyllenhaal playing a university lecturer named Adam who spots an actor named Anthony that looks just like him. Determined to meet his double, Adam tracks Anthony down and “engages him in a complex and dangerous struggle.” What ensues is a “provocative psychosexual thriller about duality and identity where in the end, only one man will survive.”
