Marvel fans got quite the treat tonight with the TV special Marvel Studios: Assembling A UniversePacked with behind the scenes footage, interviews, and press junket coverage, the one-hour special gave us an inside look at how the studio has crafted their ever-expanding shared cinematic universe, film by film. Lucky for us, it all ended with the first official look at Avengers: Age Of Ultronin the form of some exciting new concept art.

The film doesn’t hit theaters until May 1st, 2015, and this concept art does nothing but make that wait even longer. The first, and most exciting thing that was shown here is the Hulkbuster armor. It’s been on fans’ wishlists for some time now, and many thought that it would be appearing in Iron Man 3 (but that just turned out to be the “Igor” suit, which did nothing but support something that was falling down). The Hulkbuster looks great and is a pitch-perfect translation from the comics. Now we’re just left to wonder why Tony has been forced to use it.

Viewers were also treated to a first look at Quicksilver and his sister Scarlet Witch, new characters being played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Elizabeth Olsen, respectively. Though they look a bit less like their comic book counterparts, Whedon’s design for Quicksilver is a lot better than Bryan Singer’s (the character will also be appearing in this summer’s X-Men: Days of Future Past). Scarlet Witch’s costume must have been particularly hard to adapt, so I’m glad they went with something a bit more modern and realistic for the film.

Also revealed in tonight’s special were a few shots from the Ant-Man test footage and some Star-Lord, Rocket Raccoon, and Groot concept art from this summer’s Guardians of the Galaxy, all of which you can check out below.

Tell us, what did you think of Marvel Studios: Assembling A Universe? An,d how excited are you about this new concept art for Avengers: Age Of Ultron? Sound off in the comments section!
