Born Ready Games is gearing up to release Strike Suit Zero: Director’s Cut, a reworked version of their 2013 PC game of the same name, for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One this April. The re-release will also be made available for the PC at a later point in 2014.

Set in the year 2299, Strike Suit Zero is a mech-based space shooter that focuses on the battle to save Earth. You will be tasked with saving the planet and preserving it for the future by traveling the galaxy via your Strike Suit, a ship that can transform from fighter craft to massive suit of space armor. Featuring intelligent enemy fighters and a plethora of upgrades for you to unlock, hopefully the game can fill the space combat sim void on both the Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

Strike Suit Zero: Director’s Cut will be more than just a simple port, as it features a variety of updates and added features. The release boasts a restructured campaign mode, enhanced textures and lightning, two extra Strike Suits, new ship models and the Heroes Of The Flight campaign, which comes with five additional missions. More information on the extras included with this port can be found in the developer diary that we’ve posted below.

Unfortunately, I never had the chance to play Strike Suit Zero on the PC last year, but I’m definitely interested in checking out the title on a home console. Now, that may just be my love of fellow space shooters such as Colony Wars and Starlancer speaking, but that doesn’t change my opinion on this game. As of now, I’m eager to give it a spin.

Strike Suit Zero: Director’s Cut will be released on April 8th for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4, and will carry a price tag of $19.99.
