Warner Bros. has added three new cast members to Zack Snyder’s Batman vs. Superman today and they come in the form of Callan Mulvey, Tao Okamoto and Holly Hunter. According to the report, the actors will play new characters that have not been announced as of yet.

Hunter, of course, is an Academy Award winning actress who has dabbled with the superhero genre before in The Incredibles. Okamoto is a relatively new talent whose only credit to date was last year’s The Wolverine. As for Mulvey, he recently appeared in 300: Rise of An Empire (a Warner Bros. film produced by Snyder), so his involvement here does make a bit of sense. Obviously both Snyder and the studio enjoyed working with him on Noam Murro’s recent sequel.

Though Deadline states that the trio will be playing new characters, I’m a bit skeptical. Perhaps that’s true, but I wouldn’t be surprised if at least one or two of the names we’re hearing about today will appear as already established DC Comics characters. In fact, I can definitely see Mulvey as one of the supporting heroes. Although, with Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman all already confirmed, there’s likely not any additional room to squeeze in another.

Batman vs. Superman opens on May 6th, 2016. Hopefully we’ll find out shortly which roles these new actors have been cast in but until we do, feel free to speculate below.
