Keanu Reeves Will Star In Eli Roth’s Knock Knock

Eli Roth is currently prepping his upcoming psychological thriller Knock Knock. He's set to both pen the script and step behind the camera and now it looks like he's found his star. Deadline is reporting that Keanu Reeves will be headlining the film, playing a married man who's left alone for the weekend and finds his life turned upside down when two beautiful girls (Lorenza Izzo and Ana de Armas) show up at his house.

Eli Roth is currently prepping his upcoming psychological thriller Knock Knock. He’s set to both pen the script and step behind the camera and now it looks like he’s found his star. Deadline is reporting that Keanu Reeves will be headlining the film, playing a married man who’s left alone for the weekend and finds his life turned upside down when two beautiful girls (Lorenza Izzo and Ana de Armas) show up at his house.

Speaking about the film to Deadline, Roth said the following:

“I had a window before I promote Green Inferno, and I wanted to make a movie like Roman Polanski or Paul Verhoeven made when they were young, a classic psychosexual thriller that’s not a horror movie, but would have everyone on the edge of their seats. Getting Keanu is amazing, he’s a fine actor who is perfect for this. I feel I can have this movie ready for Toronto if I need to, and he’s catching a plane tomorrow and we’ll be fitting him for wardrobe right away.”

Though we still don’t know too much about it just yet, Knock Knock sounds like an intriguing project for the director. He’s mostly known for his pure horror work but seeing him go down more of a psychological route will definitely be exciting, especially if the end result turns out to be something in the vein of Roman Polanski or Paul Verhoeven, as Roth says it will.

As we patiently await more news on Knock Knock, we can all look forward to the director’s next film, The Green Inferno, which will release on September 5th. It’s basically his version of Cannibal Holocaust. I caught it at TIFF back in the fall I enjoyed it quite a bit. That being said, I’m ready to see Roth take a break from the blood and gore and move on to another genre.
