First Trailer For Jon Favreau’s Chef Is Absolutely Delicious

Jon Favreau's Chef is probably one of, if not my favorite film of 2014 thus far. I caught it at SXSW and like our very own Matt Donato, I could not stop gushing about it. It's funny, enjoyable, touching and most importantly, sees the director returning to his indie roots. Today, we have the very first trailer for the film and I think it does an excellent job of teasing what's in store for audiences come the May 9th release date.

Jon Favreau’s Chef is probably one of, if not my favorite film of 2014 thus far. I caught it at SXSW and like our very own Matt Donato, I could not stop gushing about it. It’s funny, enjoyable, touching and most importantly, sees the director returning to his indie roots. Today, we have the very first trailer for the film and I think it does an excellent job of teasing what’s in store for audiences come the May 9th release date.

Chef follows Favreau as a famous chef who hits a low point in his career and opens up a food truck in order to get him back on track. Along for the ride are Sofia Vergara, John Leguizamo, Scarlett Johansson, Oliver Platt and Robert Downey Jr. Admittedly, Downey Jr. only appears briefly but he completely steals his scene and it’s definitely one of the film’s best moments.

As both a foodie and as someone who has been eager to see Favreau return to the indie scene for a while now, Chef was an absolute delight. It’s a real crowd-pleaser and I cannot say enough good things about it. Despite a couple negative reviews that emerged from SXSW, I still think that the film is a winner and will definitely win audiences over with its heartwarming story and delicious meals.

Chef opens for business on May 9th. Check out the new trailer below and get ready for one of the most delightful and enjoyable movies of the year.
