Over the weekend at the Wizard World Comic Con, Nathan Fillion teased fans that he might have a cameo in James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy. When asked if he wanted a part in the film, the actor replied with, “wanting to get a part….or maybe did.” He then got fans even more excited when he said, “maybe you’ll be surprised. Maybe. Check the credits.”
Of course, this is far from official confirmation. For all we know, Fillion could just be having fun with those who were in attendance at the Firefly panel that was taking place at convention. Then again, that’s a pretty big tease and given the actor’s history with both Gunn and Marvel king Joss Whedon, it’s very possible that he may have a cameo in the film.
Whether he’ll actually play a significant character/role is another question entirely, but I still do think that it’s within the realm of possibility that he’ll be showing up here. I kind of hope he does, too. Fillion seems like a natural fit for the Marvel universe and I do find it a bit odd that we haven’t seen him appear in one of the studio’s films yet.
