Coming to us from Sony and Annapurna Pictures, Sausage Party will be directed by Conrad Vernon and Greg Tiernan and follows a sausage that, after falling out of a shopping cart, embarks on a dangerous mission with some friends to make their way back through the grocery store and onto their aisles before the Fourth of July sale begins.

Sure, it sounds like an absolutely ridiculous premise for a movie, but with Rogen and Goldberg involved, you can be sure that the laughs will be plentiful. The duo has collaborated on projects such as SuperbadThis is the End and the upcoming Neighbors, among others, and having loved almost everything they’ve done so far, I’m very eager to see how their raunchy brand of humor translates to the animated world.

I’m also curious to see how the film does with audiences, as it’s pretty out there and a far cry from the usual frat boy style comedy that Rogen and Goldberg are known for. Despite the departure, I’m not worried at all. There’s enough talent involved here that I have no doubt Sausage Party will be another huge hit for the seemingly unstoppable duo.
