Beautiful New Trailer For Child Of Light Showcases The Game’s World

Ubisoft's soon-to-be-released downloadable title, Child of Light, continues to look increasingly stunning with each new piece of promotional material that's released. The latest trailer, which dropped today, is no exception. It chooses not to focus on gameplay mechanics or plot, and instead simply exists as a sneak peek at some of the gorgeous, hand-painted environments that players can expect to encounter in the world of Lemuria. Forests, villages, caves, mountains, and other environmental types get showcased here, as protagonist Aurora makes her way through each one.

Ubisoft’s soon-to-be-released downloadable title, Child of Light, continues to look increasingly stunning with each new piece of promotional material that’s released. The latest trailer, which dropped today, is no exception. It chooses not to focus on gameplay mechanics or plot, and instead simply exists as a sneak peek at some of the gorgeous, hand-painted environments that players can expect to encounter in the world of Lemuria. Considering that the game is utilizing UbiArt, the graphical engine developed in-house at UbiSoft that was previously used in Rayman Origins and Rayman Legends, it makes sense that what we see here is a showcase for the potential that 2D art can continue to have in games even today. It also doesn’t hurt that Child of Light looks to be an interesting mix of platforming and old-school RPG battles, which should make for a pretty enjoyable experience.

Child of Light will be available for download on April 30 for the Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Wii U, and PC.
