Hans Zimmer Will Score Batman vs. Superman

Hans Zimmer recently told Digital Spy that he has been asked to write the score for Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel follow-up, Batman vs. Superman. The Oscar-winning-composer has been Warner Brothers' go-to guy for scoring superhero films over the last several years, having worked on the soundtracks for Snyder's Superman reboot and Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy.

Hans Zimmer recently told Digital Spy that he has been asked to write the score for Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel follow-up, Batman vs. Superman. The Oscar-winning-composer has been Warner Brothers’ go-to guy for scoring superhero films over the last several years, having worked on the soundtracks for Snyder’s Superman reboot and Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy.

“We’ve already had a couple of chats, and once I finish the movie that I shall not talk about I will probably head over to where Zack is shooting his movie and just hang out a bit and see if we can come up with any ideas,” Zimmer said.

The composer also clarified that he hopes to come up with a new score that will stand apart from his work on Nolan’s Batman films.

“That’s my problem, that’s my dilemma. I don’t want to betray, if that’s the right word, the Dark Knight movies. That was Christian [Bale], it was Christian’s role,” he explained to Digital Spy.

Whatever Zimmer comes up with, I’m sure it will be just as beautiful and epic as his previous efforts. The man is one of the most well-respected composers in the industry and I wouldn’t want to see anyone else score this film but him. He added so much to Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy (and to Man of Steel, though to a lesser extent) that it would be difficult to imagine someone else handling the music for these two beloved superheroes.

Batman vs. Superman is currently planned for a May 6th, 2016 release in the United States. The film will star Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Jesse Eisenberg, Diane Lane, Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne, Holly Hunter and Jeremy Irons.
