Dragon Age: Inquisition Arriving On October 7th

After what seems like a very long development cycle, BioWare and Electronic Arts will launch Dragon Age: Inquisition on October 7th. The third title in the fantasy saga will be released on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Windows PC.

Once again returning to the world of Thedas, Dragon Age: Inquisition places gamers into the the shoes of The Inquisitor. As the only survivor of a cataclysmic breach in the sky that took out a majority of the world’s ruling mages and templars, it will be up to you and the team you assemble to stop the invading demonic forces and figure out what exactly caused this rift.

Featuring impressive visuals powered by the Frostbite 3 engine, Inquisition will draw upon aspects of both Dragon Age: Origins and Dragon Age II. The title will feature overhauls to the combat engine, as well as the awkward romance subplots that are a BioWare stable at this point, and a more open-world for gamers to explore.

I’m not going to lie, Dragon Age: Inquisition kind of snuck up on me. Maybe it has to do with the fact that Dragon Age II was less than stellar, or maybe it has to do with the fact that this title was announced way back in 2011. Regardless, I’m interested to see what BioWare can do with the power of the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 and whether or not this title can prove to be a bounce back entry for the series.
