Brad Pitt And Shia LaBeouf Are All Tanked Up In New Fury Images

When I woke up this morning, the first thing I thought was how we don't have enough World War II dramas that take place in a tank. Luckily, director David Ayer and stars Brad Pitt and Shia LaBeouf understood the dearth of tank dramas and took steps to correct it with Fury. Brand new images from the film have just hit the web, and they are about what you would expect: a lot of military men looking badass on a tank.

When I woke up this morning, the first thing I thought was how we don’t have enough World War II dramas that take place in a tank. Luckily, director David Ayer and stars Brad Pitt and Shia LaBeouf understood the dearth of tank dramas and took steps to correct it with FuryBrand new images from the film have just hit the web, and they are about what you would expect: a lot of military men looking badass on a tank.

Fury takes place at the end of World War II and sounds a bit like Inglourious Basterds without the Tarantino dialogue. Pitt plays a Sherman tank commander called Wardaddy who takes his five man crew on a dangerous mission behind enemy lines to “strike at the heart of Nazi Germany.” If I know anything about World War II dramas, this will be the single mission that won the war and will also probably end with everyone dying.

The new images that were released today have Pitt looking very scarred and badass, while his boys (including LaBeouf, Logan Lerman, Michael Pena and Jon Bernthal) are a bit cleaner. Director Ayer told People (via Collider) that Pitt’s role is a bit of a different one for the actor, while LaBeouf was “a joy to work with.” And about that tank? Here’s what Ayer said about that:

I couldn’t tell you how much insurance this thing had on it – it was crazy … It actually ended up performing really well. It’s like the tank was happy to get out of the barn and run around. These tanks like to run hard. That’s what they’re built for.

All in all, Fury sounds like it could be good fun. These World War II dramas can be a bit wearing and predictable, but the cast is here is great. And, at least we’ve moved out of the infantry divisions and into tanks, which could make for some tense and claustrophobic scenes.

Fury hits theaters in November, so we have a little while to wait before we get to see the tank in action. In the meantime, you can check out the new photos below.
