The adaptation of Harlan Coben’s critically acclaimed novel, Missing You, has found itself a writer in Stephany Folsom, who recently garnered attention for her blacklisted script 1969: A Space Odyssey or How Kubrick Learned to Stop Worrying and Land on the Moon, which told the story of a faked moon landing.

For those unfamiliar with the novel, Missing You revolves around “female police detective who starts dating online. She begins communicating with a man who jilted her 18 years earlier and it leads to the uncovering of an intricate scheme involving a brilliant sociopathic criminal.”

Reception for the novel was extremely positive upon its release, and it went onto become a #1 New York Times Best Seller. It’s also not the only Harlan Cohen novel currently receiving a film adaptation, as his novel Tell No One is also in production with Argo writer Chris Terrio and Hugh Jackman attached. It’ll be interesting to see if Missing You can attract some A-list talent as well.

Brett Ratner is on board to produce the film under RatPac Entertainment and at this time, no director, stars or release date have been set. We’ll keep you posted when we hear more though.
