Watch The Stunning Creation Sequences From Noah

2014 got off to a rocky start, with many major releases either disappointing or flat out failing, but one collectively agreed-upon diamond in the rough was Darren Aronofsky's provocative exploration of forgiveness in Noah. It was essentially everything you would expect from a Darren Aronofsky telling of the creation of the world. There's excellent acting from everyone involved, a melodramatic story that borderlines on straight up depression most of the time, and it's a visual spectacle filled with imaginative shots and special effects.

2014 got off to a rocky start, with many major releases either disappointing or flat out failing, but one collectively agreed-upon diamond in the rough was Darren Aronofsky’s provocative exploration of forgiveness in Noah. It was essentially everything you would expect from a Darren Aronofsky telling of the creation of the world. There’s excellent acting from everyone involved, a melodramatic story that borderlines on straight up depression most of the time, and it’s a visual spectacle filled with imaginative shots and special effects.

Easily the most beautiful sequence – and quite possibly the sequence that convinced Aronofsky to commit to the film in the first place – is a three-minute monologue from Russell Crowe set over various images and artistic cuts, detailing the creation of the universe along with how mankind destroyed it. Of course, the scene – along with the entire movie – is heightened by another compelling soundtrack from frequent Aronofsky collaborator Clint Mansell.

This week, this gorgeous sequence has been made available online and we have it for your viewing pleasure below. Whether you’ve already seen the film or not, we highly suggest watching this clip. It truly is stunning and is one of the few moments from 2014’s cinematic offerings that really sticks out and stays with you.

Noah may have left theaters, but it’s moments like the ones we see here that will push us to give the film repeated viewings and possibly, even some awards attention.
