Respawn has announced that Titanfall will take players on a trip this Thursday, which is the targeted release date for the game’s new, aptly-titled Expedition map pack.

Expedition will bolster the shooter’s multiplayer-focused offerings with three new maps: Runoff, Swamplands and Wargames. Said maps will also add to the title’s fiction, which may or may not be of interest to its diehard fans.

For details regarding the storyline that lays behind these specific locations, check out the following synopsis, which appears on Titanfall‘s official website:

In the wake of the Battle of Demeter, IMC Expeditionary Forces travel deep into Frontier space to recover from their recent defeat. On an uncharted world, the IMC begin construction of a new fleet operations base, using newly acquired water collection and filtration plants to support the new base. When drainage operations reveal ancient ruins and artifacts of an unknown origin in a nearby swamp, Spyglass activates an archaeological team to investigate the site. To maintain battle readiness at the new base, IMC Pilots use simulation pods to train for anticipated Militia raids, based on lessons learned in Angel City and IMC Airbase Sierra.

Scheduled to launch alongside of the game’s first of three planned content packs is a rather hefty update, the full details of which can be seen here. For a recap of some of the more notable changes, see below:

Custom loadout names
The ability to use two custom loadouts per match
An Xbox One-specific chat icon
Tracking for the maps you’ve played on, and the matches you’ve won, which will aid achievement hunters
Improved custom match settings
Match balance improvements
Losses for those who quit prematurely
A last game summary, which allows for one to view his previous match’s scoreboard from within the next lobby
Improved map selection, in an attempt to eliminate feelings of deja-vu

Look for Expedition on May 15, and expect to pay $9.99 for it, unless you own Titanfall‘s $24.99 season pass.
