First Look At Julianne Moore In The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1

Lionsgate has released the first photo of Julianne Moore as President Coin in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 today. The character appears pretty much exactly how myself, and likely most people, imagined her, so there's not really any surprises here. Still, it's a welcome look at one of the film's new characters and it's also nice to see the late Philip Seymour Hoffman alongside her in the photo as well.

Lionsgate has released the first photo of Julianne Moore as President Coin in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 today. The character appears pretty much exactly how myself, and likely most people, imagined her, so there’s not really any surprises here. Still, it’s a welcome look at one of the film’s new characters and it’s also nice to see the late Philip Seymour Hoffman alongside her in the photo as well.

The next instalment in the mega-successful series will find Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) in District 13, which was thought to be destroyed but is actually a fully functional society living underground, under the rule of President Coin. It’s there that she begins her rebellion against the Capitol, by unifying the districts of Panem in an attempt to end the corruption that has plagued them for so long.

While I can’t say I loved The Hunger Games, I did enjoy Catching Fire quite a bit, and have high hopes for Mockingjay. Having read the novels, I can tell you that I really like where the story goes in its final act and there are a lot of moments that I’m very excited to see on the big screen. I’m pretty confident that this series will have a satisfying conclusion and with director Francis Lawrence back behind the camera, I’m eager to see how the final two films in the YA adaptation turn out.

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 opens on November 21st. Check out Moore as President Coin in the photo above, and below, as well as a promotional interview with the actress, and let us know what you think in the comments section.
