Is there anything that Jeremy Renner can’t do? The guy is taking Hollywood by storm, snagging The Bourne Legacy role, co-starring in Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol, joining the next Ice Age and playing Hawkeye in The Avengers are just some of the many tasks on Renner’s to do list.
Today THR brings us news that Renner is developing a Steve McQueen biopic. He’s forming a production company called The Combine and they will develop the biopic with Renner set to star as McQueen. James Gray will write the script which will be based on the novels Portrait of an American Rebel and The Life and Legend of a Hollywood Icon. Both books were written by Marshall Terrill. Ivan Zacharias will make his feature directorial debut with the film.
This all sounds good to me. Renner needs to win an Oscar and he’s not going to do it by joining all these franchise films. Perhaps this will give him the chance to finally take home the Academy Award. It sounds like a great project for him and a role he can definitely pull off. But with so much on his plate, he has more than enough to keep him busy until this project gets underway.
