Rumor: Commissioner Gordon Will Appear In Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice

File this one strictly under 'rumors' for the time being. Zack Snyder is hard at work right now on Warner Bros.' hotly anticipated Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, a blockbuster which appears to be primed to include just about every DC Comics character under the sun. Now, we're hearing from fansite Batman-on-Film that Commissioner James Gordon is going to make an appearance.

Zack Snyder is hard at work right now on Warner Bros.’ hotly anticipated Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, a blockbuster which appears to be primed to include just about every DC Comics character under the sun. Now, we’re hearing from fansite Batman-on-Film that Commissioner James Gordon might be making an appearance as well.

Surely it’s not unreasonable to think that one of Batman’s closest allies will show up in Dawn of Justice. And that’s exactly what B-o-F has heard from one of its longtime sources. No details on an actor yet though, which sheds some doubt on the validity of the source’s claim. After all, if Gordon was in the film, why didn’t we hear about an actor being cast in the part back when all the other characters were announced?

Besides, Dawn of Justice is already going to be overstuffed with characters (which is fitting, given its terrible mouthful of a title). In addition to the Dark Knight (Ben Affleck) and the Man of Steel (Henry Cavill), Dawn of Justice is set to include Alfred (Jeremy Irons), Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), Lois Lane (Amy Adams), Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg), Martha Kent (Diane Lane), Victor Stone/Cyborg (Ray Fisher) and Perry White (Laurence Fishburne). Additionally, Holly Hunter, Callan Mulvey, and Tao Okamoto have unspecified roles. That, and Emily Blunt may or may not be included.

I’m already tired of hearing about Dawn of Justice, which is unfortunate, seeing as I’ll have to keep talking about it for almost two more years, until it arrives on May 6th, 2016. On the bright side though, at least the inclusion of Gordon would suggest that Snyder, writer David S. Goyer and screenwriter Chris Terrio are trying to make Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice a legitimate Batman movie as well as a sequel to Man of Steel.
