Transformers: Age Of Extinction Crunches More Metal Bones In International Trailer And TV Spots

Let's face it: no matter what critics say or do not say about Transformers: Age of Extinction, it's going to be a hit. The Transformers franchise has made a mint at the box office in every iteration, so there's no reason to suspect that replacing Shia LaBeouf with Mark Wahlberg is going to drive anyone away. Plus, based on the trailers and TV spots we have seen so far, Michael Bay's latest entry into the bone-crunching, ear-splitting franchise promises more of the same robot madness and mayhem that we've come to expect from Transformers.

Let’s face it: no matter what critics say or do not say about Transformers: Age of Extinction, it’s going to be a hit. The Transformers franchise has made a mint at the box office in every iteration, so there’s no reason to suspect that replacing Shia LaBeouf with Mark Wahlberg is going to drive anyone away. Plus, based on the trailers and TV spots we have seen so far, Michael Bay’s latest entry into the bone-crunching, ear-splitting franchise promises more of the same robot madness and mayhem that we’ve come to expect from Transformers.

The latest international trailer is pretty much the same as the English language one already released in the US: Mark Wahlberg has found a Transformer, there’s a pretty girl he’s going to have to save, and the world is coming to a shattering conclusion unless Optimus Prime and his fellow robots/vehicles can stop it. There’s also that roaring T-Rex Dinobot that we’ve seen a couple times already, which promises to be a small shift from your average anthropomorphic Transformers. Other than that, Transformers: Age of Extinction looks like it’s pretty much par for the course.

Depending on your perspective, it might be just fine that there’s nothing new under the Transforming sun. This series hardly trades on character development, introspection, or even particularly intelligent action-moviemaking. It’s big draw is the sight of big machines smashing into other big machines while human beings look on and/or scream. Bottom line is, if you like Transformers, you’ll go see this movie. If you prefer your action films with a slightly higher IQ than the average Corvette, you’ll want to avoid it.

If you look below, you can watch the latest international trailer and TV spots for Transformers: Age of Extinction. Then, head to the theatre on June 27 for a look at all those big robots in action.
