First Official Images From Jurassic World Showcase Lead Actors But No Dinos

Though I'll admit that I was at first skeptical of Universal resuscitating the long-dormant Jurassic Park franchise for a fourth installment, Jurassic World look pretty damn cool. The plot details we've gotten so far, which focus on the fully operational theme park of the title and a mutated dinosaur hybrid, are extremely tantalizing, and the cast that director Colin Trevorrow (Safety Not Guaranteed) is working with is stellar. Today, we have some official images from Jurassic World, which show off the talented lead actors without unveiling any of the scaly dinosaurs quite yet.

Though I’ll admit that I was at first skeptical of Universal resuscitating the long-dormant Jurassic Park franchise for a fourth installment, Jurassic World look pretty damn cool. The plot details we’ve gotten so far, which focus on the fully operational theme park of the title and a mutated dinosaur hybrid, are extremely tantalizing, and the cast that director Colin Trevorrow (Safety Not Guaranteed) is working with is stellar. Today, we have some official images from Jurassic World, which show off the talented lead actors without unveiling any of the scaly dinosaurs quite yet.

Chris Pratt (Guardians of the Galaxy) stars as Owen, a scientist at Jurassic World who is conducting behavorial research on the park’s velociraptors (how much do you want to bet that knowledge comes in handy?). Bryce Dallas Howard also has an unknown lead role, and the image we have of the actress today finds her character looking very prim and proper in all white. Finally, we have a shot of two kids named Zach and Gray (played by The Kings of Summer lead Nick Robinson and Mud actor Ty Simpkins), who look as if they’ve stumbled across something either exciting or terrifying (or, considering that this is a theme park with live dinosaurs, probably a mix of the two).

These are the best images we have seen yet from Jurassic World. Sure, there was that patch, a map of the park and some behind-the-scenes shots, not to mention that awesome concept art. But these are the first official images from the movie, and they’ve definitely done a good job of making me even more excited to check out Jurassic World next year.

Missing from the shots are co-stars Omar Sy, Vincent D’Onofrio, Irrfan Khan, Jake Johnson, Judy Greer, B.D. Wong, Katie McGrath and Lauren Lapkus. We’ll have to wait a little longer to find out what roles those talented actors have in this likely blockbuster though, as Jurassic World opens for business on June 12th, 2015.
